megan sent me a couple of hacks and attributes them to gerard rabara, a friend who is a student at FIT in NYC. certainly handy to have design student friend around. the first is a floating breakfast bar for her new apartment.
"when i moved, i was sick of my ikea coffee table (discontinued, i think) and wanted to do something unique in my new apartment. so i disassembled the coffee table, cut the top of it into 2 pieces. i placed the narrow piece against the wall (my friend ron's idea) and mounted the wide piece on 3 supporting valter brackets."
