Materials: Poang armchair, posters
Description: My Toronto School of Art collage class was collecting posters from telephone poles, when I spotted an old Poang armchair in the alleyway. The wood was split and the back support and cushions were gone, but I grabbed the chair and cleaned it up.
So I ripped up the posters and glued them to the chair, with acrylic gel medium. I made back slats out of cardboard, and stapled on a particularly large poster to form the new back.
The chair is now on exhibit at the school. It will be returned to the alleyway (unless someone out there wants to own this objet d'art, which is not suitable for seating).
