Turkey wants to buy 100 F-35

Turkish Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz said yesterday that his country plans to buy 100 fighter Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II for $ 16 billion.

Information Minister Yilmaz states that the Ministry remained with plans to purchase 100 aircraft and an estimated value of the transaction at $ 16 billion.


When it comes to fruition, Turkey will strengthen its position as a military leader in the region. Greece plunged into crisis - so far seeking to balance the growing power of the eastern neighbor - will not be able to get longer for a similar financial effort.
