By the end of 2012 the Marines of Venezuela will receive a new artillery and armored vehicles of Russian production.
According to "Infodifensa" in the number of artillery systems will include 152-mm self-propelled howitzer 2S19 "MSTA-S", 122-mm MLRS BM-21 "Grad", 120-mm mortars transportable 2S12 "Sani". Armour will be the BMP-3 and BTR-80 with the wheel formula 8x8 in the floating version.
Currently, Marines armed with Venezuela 105-mm towed howitzers M-56 of "Oto Melara" and 120-mm towed mortars MO-120 RT-61 "Thomson-Brandt." The park consists of armored amphibious military vehicles LVT-7 and EE-11 armored personnel carriers, "Urrutia" with the wheel formula 6x6 Brazilian company "Angus."
Russian military hardware in the first phase will add to the park consisting of arms, and then replace them completely. As it became known in the Marine Corps planned to air cavalry units, which will go into service the Mi-17V-5.
