I think it turned out rather nicely.
Christopher built a shelf to hold the top tracks and lights for the wardrobe. The bottom tracks are secured to a 2x4 installed crown facing up. The width of the doors left a little gap which Chris closed up with a piece of pine. Chris has an excellent write-up on how the sliding door closet was hacked in his new home.
