Eurosatory 2012 : New Oshkosh M-ATV

The American Eurosatory Oshkosh demonstrates one of the new version of the patrol car M-ATV, intended for special forces.

Eurosatory is demonstrated on a modified version of the vehicle, identified as SFV. It was developed in cooperation with the U.S. Special Operations command (USSOCOM). Changes from the standard version (also used by the Polish military contingent in Afghanistan) include a modified shape of the front windows - for better visibility - revised arrangement of the cargo area and access to it from inside the armored vehicle through the door. The car comes in two versions, with motor, configured with four seats for the crew, and with remote-controlled unit with five seats. Promotes Oshkosh M-ATV is also available with a new elongated hull variant of sanitation.

Drive M-ATV provides a 7.2-liter diesel power Caterpilar achieves 370 horsepower. Transfer of power to the wheels is via a 6-speed automatic gearbox Allison 3500 SP and dwuprzełorzeniową transfer box. The vehicle has all wheel independent suspension, TAK-4 system. A vehicle with an unladen weight of about 12.5 t has a 907 kg payload.


U.S. Special Forces Command has ordered 460 vehicles in the version of SFV, but including U.S. armed forces have ordered more than 8400 family vehicles M-ATV.
