Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) has recently announced that it will expand its portfolio with the “help” of the VW Amarok in the below 3.5 t class.
“Outstanding mobility both on and off road, flexibility and reliability - these are the chief features of the lightweight all-terrain vehicles in service with armed forces around the globe. Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) has now expanded its product portfolio to include a commercial off-the-shelf vehicle in the below 3.5 t class”, as RMMV is saying in its official press release.
The Volkswagen Amarok M, which has also been named an LMPV, which stands for Light Multi-Purpose Vehicle, is coming with an off-road anti-blocking system and all-wheel drive, along with a reinforced chassis, an electrically powered ring mount for medium or heavy machine gun, advanced communications equipment and many more. The model is powered by a wide range of both petrol and diesel engines, with outputs ranging from 121 HP to 177 HP, mated to a six-speed manual or even an eight speed automatic transmission.
