While Rafael is presently unveiling its Mini-Spike missile for the first time at the 2012 Eurosatory exhibition, IsraelDefense learned that the company reached an agreement with an Asian country several days ago for the initial sale of Spike SR missiles, in a deal valued at several tens of millions of dollars.
The Spike SR, intended for ranges of up to 1,000 m and AFV targets, was initially presented at the 2012 Singapore Air Show in February. The country that acquired it already has a variety of missiles from the Spike missile family, for ranges between 1-25 km (Spike NLOS).
As stated, Rafael is now presenting the Mini-Spike for the first time. The missile also has a range of 1,000 m, but possesses a reduced 4 kg warhead intended for soft targets. This missile has yet to be sold.
