AgustaWestland has announced that it has received a contract from Wiśniowski of Poland for a GrandNew light twin helicopter in VVIP transport configuration. The company made the announcement 25 July 2012.
According to AgustaWestland, this contract marks the first sale of the GrandNew light twin in Poland, and reinforces the presence of AgustaWestland in Poland where its subsidiary PZL-Swidnik is based. PZL-Swidnik is also responsible for the manufacture of several GrandNew fuselages.
The GrandNew is the latest variant of the Grand platform, with a new cockpit to provide pilots with high levels of situational awareness and flight management capabilities, including the Localiser Performance with Vertical guidance (LPV) approach operations. New 4-axis digital autopilot, Synthetic Vision EFIS with Flight Management system (FMS), Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS), Highway in the Sky (HITS), flight recording embedded functions, Enhanced Vision System (EVS) and Digital Map all help to increase mission capability and safety.
The aircraft is expected to be delivered in late 2012.
