The UAV Market Is Growing

Sources in Israel's defense establishment say that Israeli manufacturers will have to cooperate in order to win a substantial portion of the market, which will increase to $50 billion over the next five years.


According to sources in Israel's defense establishment, Israeli UAV manufacturers will have to find ways to cooperate in order to win substantial portions of the global UAV market, which is expected to grow by 2020 to $50 billion.

The sources say that the tremendous increase (from a total sum of $5.1 billion in 2009) requires close cooperation to decrease the influence of 'new players' in the market, primarily from Europe and China.


The experts say that the demand for UAV systems, from those weighing half a kilogram to systems weighing several tons, is constantly growing. According to the expert the majority of the demand will come from the military field, but there are also impressive demands for UAVs intended for civilian purposes.
