Tehran claims upgraded version of Fateh-110 missile has range of 300km. Iran announced Saturday that his has successfully test fired an upgraded version of the Fateh 110 short-range ballistic missile.The Islamic Republic's official news agencies quoted Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi as saying that the test fire was successful.
"With the fourth-generation of the Fateh 110, the armed forces of our country are able to target and destroy land and sea targets, enemy headquarters, missile seats, ammunition sites, radars and other points," Vahidi said.
"Few countries in the world possess the technology to build such missiles," he boasted.
According to Iranian news reports, the Fateh 110 is equipped has a range of 300km and is equipped with an guidance system, Iran plans to also install on all future ballistic missiles. Vahidi also claimed that the missile could "strike targets with pinpoint precision… making it the most accurate weapon of its kind in Iran's arsenal."
