France may soon sell four Scorpene submarines in Singapore.
According to our information, negotiations will begin preparing for the sale of four Scorpene submarines for the navy of the Republic of Singapore. The French manufacturer DCNS currently starting discussions with the Ministry of Defence to organize the sale. Which could also include technology transfers and transfers of manufacturing. The trick is knowing how France wants to sell the technology capabilities in Singapore at or below those of the French Navy (radius of sonar detection, for example). Exports of such decisions should be validated by Interministerial Commission for the Study of Exports of War Material (CIEEMG).
"Nothing is sure yet, we compete with the Germans," we said a source familiar with the matter. " This is a significant contract for two billion minimum, but if done the contract could not even be signed next year."
