In the framework of the deal, IAI’s Bedek Aviation Group is expected to maintain Italian aircraft at a scope of $200 million.
Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI) Bedek Aviation Group, which supplies comprehensive maintenance services for aircraft and deals with aircraft upgrades and conversions, is expected to close another large-scale deal in Italy. In the framework of the proposed deal, it will be responsible for the maintenance of aircraft engines, at a scope estimated at $200 million.
This deal will represent a continuation of other large-scale deals recently signed between Italy and IAI, after Israel decided to select the Italian M-346 trainer aircraft produced by Aermacchi as the Israeli Air Force’s new trainer aircraft.
In the framework of those reciprocal deals, Israel committed to acquire 30 Italian trainer aircraft. In return, IAI will supply the Italian Air Force with two G-550 aircraft for early warning and aerial control, ground stations and a logistic support package for a total scope of $750 million. In addition it will supply the Italian company Telespazio with an observation satellite, for a sum of $180 million.
