Northrop Grumman has been awarded almost $37.3 million to provide continued support services for the US Army's fleet of RQ-5 Hunter unmanned air systems.
To run until 14 January 2014, the contract will cover the provision of services at Northrop's Sierra Vista site in Arizona, and will also be associated with Hunter systems being operated by the US Army in Afghanistan.
The type's capabilities are being gradually assumed using General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Gray Eagle UAS: a development of the US Air Force's armed MQ-9 Reaper.
