The company has a 50-year legacy of innovation and technology expertise, partnering with customers worldwide to deliver affordable, mission-critical products and services for managing global threats and conflicts.
Exelis is highlighting core technologies and solutions at IDEX - tactical voice and communications networks, night vision goggles, and mine defense systems.
The ITT Exelis Night Vision and Tactical Communications Systems business is an innovation leader in the global defense, security, and battlefield management sectors. High volume data communications products to be showcased include the ITT Exelis SpearNet handheld radio, a combat proven wideband data radio that provides advanced wireless, ad hoc networking in a small, lightweight package. ITT Exelis High Capacity Data Radio (HCDR), the intelligent, self managing, data backbone of a UHF communications network will also be on display.
ITT Exelis SINCGARS RT-1702 radio provides international customers access to the same quality, durability and reliability of the most widely fielded Combat Net Radio in the world – ITT Exelis SINCGARS, trusted by the U.S. Armed Forces for over 25 years. Complimenting the RT-1702 is the fully interoperable Spearhead® VHF handheld radio; providing secure, frequency hopping voice and packet data with integrated GPS in a lightweight package for dismounted soldiers. Both of these VHF radios are displayed by ITT Exelis.
ITT Exelis is also the world’s leading supplier of Generation 3 image intensification technology and night vision products and will showcase several of their monocular and binocular models including the AN/PVS-14 monocular device, designed for simple and secure helmet or weapon rail mount for the dismounted soldier.
“This region is very important to our business. Now that we have joined together our night vision and tactical communications business areas, we can provide even stronger value and solutions to these customers,” said Ken Harrison, Vice President of International Night Vision and Communications Systems for Exelis.
The ITT Exelis Mine Defense Systems business is an experienced systems integrator of mine countermeasure technologies and has been designing and producing innovative minesweeping solutions since the 1970s. The MK-105 airborne magnetic sweeping system, the first system produced by ITT Exelis, is showcased at the exhibit. The system has been used on every U.S. Navy mine-clearing operation since 1973 and has been upgraded with state-of-the-art technology to continue defeating modern mines for the next decade.
