Under Counter Perfekt Wine Shelf

Description: Even before moving into our new place, my wife was scoping out wine storage. She wanted an integrated cabinet. There was no space for it in the regular part of the kitchen, but we found a perfect space under the breakfast bar counter.

An IKEA Perfekt wine shelf was an almost perfect solution. The counter is about 1/2 an inch shallower than the Perfekt shelf, so some trim was necessary.

I used outside corner trim to cover the unsightly gap where the top of the wine shelf and the counter meet. Then I used matching base molding to complete the integrated look. Still need to fill in with putty and paint.

Once we add some counter stools, our breakfast bar will have completed its transformation to wine bar.
