Four Member States have outsourced the Eurofighter program maintenance work on these fighters possessed. Over the next five years it will spend 2 billion.
Plants airline involved in the project provided more than 300 Eurofighter. The vast majority of them went to the four Member States. Taking into account the cost of the order, can be estimated that the maintenance and upgrading of one aircraft over 5 years users spend an average of about 8 million Euro, which does not seem excessive amount.
Request made Spain, Germany, Britain and Italy. To date, only the Italian Alenia and British BAE Systsem revealed the volume of orders: 500 and 550 million Euro. EADS Cassidian, representing the aircraft factories of Germany and Spain, did not go further in their footsteps. Yet we know that they will receive for servicing around 1 billion Euro. Eurofighter spokesman said the fact that the entire package has a value of the order of 2 billion euros.
In addition to classic service, the company forming the Eurofighter consortium will carry out modernization work planned, in particular on the integration of new weapon systems and radar station with an active scan phase.
Signed contracts are framework agreements, under which the concrete work will be outsourced. According to representatives of BAE Systems, the adopted rule will reduce the operating costs of British fighters by about 30%. On the other hand, long-term agreement will guarantee employment for about 600 people in Britain involved in this project.
